Philanthropy
Wolfson Children's Hospital was founded on philanthropy. The word philanthropy stems from two greek words: 'phileo', which means to love or delight in, and 'anthropos' which means man or mankind. It was this love for mankind that was manifest in Morris Wolfson's vision and participation in his adopted country, America. As further testimony to his delight to give and belief in the benefits of that giving, he urged his sons to continue on his vision of a childrens clinic should he be unable to complete the task.
Today, Wolfson Children's Hospital still relies on those that love their community and, more particularly, its children. There are many ways to get involved throughout the year. Come to the memorable Randstad Red Wagon Parade with a decorated red wagon decorated with a whimsical theme that the children will love. The Woman's Board sponsors annual events such as the Art and Antiques show, and their proceeds are dedicated to the enhancement of Wolfson facilities and services. And don't forget the yearly Bass Tournament, a fun-filled fishing tournament created by the Plant Facilities Department of Baptist Medical Center to help fund capital improvements for Wolfson.
